The Cone, Lemington, Newcastle Upon Tyne
The Cone is an iconic building in Lemington, Newcastle which has been in existence since 1787. The former glass works which ended production in 1997 when all but the ‘Cone’ were demolished is now home to a number of new commercial units. Apollo Doors were delighted to have been asked to install an assortment of electrically operated roller shutters and manually operated aluminium glazed doors and steel security doors. The roller shutters have a galvanised finish and the aluminium glazed doors and steel security doors are finished in anthracite powder coat so blend nicely into this fabulous development.
Locomotion Park, Killingworth, Newcastle Upon Tyne
A new industrial/distribution centre at Killingworth, Newcastle saw Apollo Doors engineers installing a selection of electric 3 phase, 95mm insulated roller shutters finished in anthracite grey powder coating. High quality steel doors were installed, again finished in anthracite completed the job which as seen in the photos are aesthetically pleasing as well as giving the client the benefit of added security.
Shotton Community Youth Hub
Apollo Doors were delighted to have won the contract to supply and install an assortment of aluminium doors and windows, automated doors, steel doors and roller shutters. Working closely with the main contractor the new build at Shotton Community Park, Shotton Colliery, Co. Durham is an ideal location with lots of green space that provides fabulous facilities for the local community.
The aluminium doors and windows finished in an anthracite powder coat and meet current regulations as well as benefitting from an aesthetically pleasing design. The electric roller shutters offer added security to the building, are also finished in an anthracite powder coat and blend seamlessly to this superb new community facility. The steel doors are of a high security and also fully DDA compliant. An electric roller shutter was installed over the kitchen service hatch and to complete our work in the kitchen a double glazed aluminium window was manufactured and fitted.
Commercial Units Bishop Auckland
Recently installed at a new commercial site in Bishop Auckland Apollo Doors engineers fitted electrically operated sectional doors along with aluminium shop frontage that included manually operated doors with glazed side panels. The client choice of powder coat finish to the shop frontage and shutters complements the colour scheme of the commercial units.
Northumbria Police – Door replacement project
Apollo Doors recently completed the installation of a number of aluminium doors at various sites for Northumbria Police. The doors were a combination of automatic doors, manual doors that feature automated maglock systems and standard manual doors. We also installed steel ‘clash’ posts adjacent to some of the doors that reduce the risk of doors being damaged in windy conditions.
Edinburgh Royal Hospital
Edinburgh Royal Hospital recently engaged Apollo Doors to install automatic doors to the main entrance of the building. The automatic swing doors incorporated special maglock security features and were linked to the fire alarm system, the doors are double glazed and finished off in an anthracite powder coating.
Durning the installation engineers worked through the night on this project so that access/egress was not compromised for public and staff using the building.

Central Station Newcastle
Removed old roller shutter replacing with new motor, barrel and perforated curtain
Builders Merchant
Apollo Doors recently completed a project at a builder’s merchant in Durham were an access ramp was constructed and handrails fitted. We manufactured aluminium doors with a security roller shutter and canopy. To complete the project security grills were manufactured and installed.
Public Transport Station
Having removed a 40 year old roller shutter and motor from a public transport station in central Newcastle Apollo engineers then installed a new motor, barrel and perforated roller shutter curtain.
Warehouse Project
Apollo were asked to remove several large industrial manual roller shutters at a large warehouse in the north east. Engineers then supplied and installed electrical 3 phase roller shutters with speed doors fitted externally to the shutter.
Industrial Site
New sectional doors, steel security doors, fire shutters along with aluminium doors and windows were all supplied and installed by Apollo Doors Ltd at this new build industrial site in Northumberland.
